Payments in BRL (Brazilian Real)
Payments in BRL that come from outside Brazil are closely regulated. To comply with Brazilian banking regulations, these payments are reviewed by an intermediary financial institution named StoneX (formerly INTL FCStone) before they are deposited into your account.
What to Expect
After we process your first payment, StoneX will validate that the Tax ID (CPF/ CNPJ) you entered in Worksuite's bank information form matches the name on the bank account you entered in the same form.
Once the above is confirmed, StoneX might contact you via the phone number you provided in Worksuite's bank details form. To authorize the deposit, you may need to provide them with the following:
A valid government-issued ID
Proof of address
A contract with your client
A signed agreement with StoneX (in Portuguese: firma reconhecida em cartório)
In some cases, you’ll also need to send StoneX a simple invoice that includes the following information:
Your full name
Email address
Phone number
Street address
A brief description of the work performed
The amount paid
The payment date
Once these documents are submitted and approved, the funds are typically deposited on the next business day.
What to do if your payment is delayed?
If the information provided in Worksuite's bank details form is not accurate or StoneX fails to contact you, they might hold onto your funds until they can hear back from you in order to authorize a deposit.
If you notice a slight delay in your payment, especially if it's the first time you're getting paid through Worksuite, we recommend you reach out to StoneX directly for guidance and to confirm what's required to get your payment moving.
StoneX Contact Information
Tel: 11 3509-5400
DTVM Ltda, Departamento de Câmbio
If StoneX is not contacted, they might return the funds to our banking partner, a process that can take up to 10 business days to complete in most cases.
Payments sent to Virtual Bank Accounts
At this point in time, StoneX is unable to process BRL payments to virtual bank accounts, including:
Banco Inter
Banco Topazio
Nubank
If you're using one of these banks, you won’t be able to receive BRL payments. However, there is an alternative:
Receiving Payments in USD
If your bank account supports USD, you can choose to receive your payment in USD to simplify the payment process.
The payment will go directly to your bank.
StoneX will not be involved.
No additional documentation is needed.
You avoid FX conversion fees, since the currency stays in USD.
This is the recommended method if you use a virtual bank or want faster processing.
In Summary
